You get $2500 state return which you can apply immediately after you buy it. Federal return used to be $7500 which is when you file your taxes. I think they have sliced it with half now.
For me anything that helps devalue the oil industry is a good thing. It polutes, it finances a lot of terrible governments (Russia, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Venezuela, ...) and a lot of wars only happen because of it.
