Tl;Dr: there is no growth narrative for the stock. Sell it and diversify or find your next bubble bet. Looks like Elon, who's famously said he hates ads is starting to do ads (attached is a FB ad I got). With EV car sales slowing and 40K cars in inventory, and the model Y just not selling, he's basically pushing out ads, multiple price drops, and more to get those out the door. The growth story is over, and the stock is overvalued, as of a year ago. Get out of if you still own the stock. 40K cars at even $20K COGS per car is $800M in inventory, at a cost of capital of 10%, thats $80M annual burnrate in just inventory holding. With the car having multiple issues in reliability, repair cost, insurance, excessive tire wear and tear, range depreciation during cold weather etc, it's been hard for every day consumers to adopt this vehicle, and it's starting to crumble the whole growth story. Why buy a Tesla when you can get a Toyota for superior reliability at a cheaper price. Toyota stock is up 32% YTD vs. Tesla down by same amount. Toyota is market cap of $400B vs. Tesla of $516B even though Tesla is 10% of Toyota sales (11.8M vs. 1.81M) You know it's bad when if you go to Tesla.com, you can't even find an option to build a custom Model Y (everything else is still custom build) For those curious to learn more: https://www.businessinsider.com/tesla-model-y-ads-sales-elon-musk-hates-advertising-2024-3 https://electrek.co/2024/04/04/tesla-tsla-turns-deep-discounts-inventory-piles-up/ https://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/tesla-musk-steering-suspension/ #tesla
Hopefully they don't use Blind Ads
Tesla ads are all over YouTube.
I am curious to hear if anyone is still buying this growth story, and the rationale for this.
Tesla Model 3 owner here…I unfortunately don’t see the growth story any longer. No longer a first mover advantage company and they cannot sustain selling more and more units now that most EV enthusiasts have one by now and selling more would at least require price cuts which means lower margins
Glad to hear some rationality in market. We will probably see a downward trend for this stock if low margins continue for a few quarters
Anyone who buys a Tesla now is late to the trend, they aren’t a novelty anymore.
He'll need to do a U-turn on his politics if he wants to sell to affluent liberals who traditionally bought Teslas.
He just needed to not say anything partisan and would've been fine. The damage is done now and can not be undone
He is starting to understand why economics is afterall not a bad social science major.
He will definitely deliver robotaxis by 2300 , just like he promised to deliver roadster in 2021
Don't forget, deliver level 5 autonomous driving by 2017, then 2019, then 2021....
Why did you fake the numbers?
Oh the usual tesla haters. Nothing to see here
For the less experienced TSLA is what ass tastes like
Lmao so its shit 🤣🤣
