How well does the autopilot work?
Dunno what to compare this to, but I’ve stopped paying attention in stop-and-go traffic (which is where I primarily use it)
I don't like autopilot, so I never got it. It's annoying and unreliable when I tried it before buying ... Model 3, is the best car I have driven to date. Glad I never got a bimmer which was the other option.
Feels too small after a while, should have gotten something bigger but I’m too cheap.
Test drive model 3 and you will fall in love. The only issue, I would wait before buying, breakins of quarter window which can cost upward of 500$ to fix in Bay Area.
What’s gained by breaking this window? How widespread is it? Am I missing something?
Google it.
My friends who have them had a few breakdowns in the first year, but they were under warranty of course.
Broken windows. Random bugs. Trunk design flaw that floods it with rain. Decent car otherwise though, but don't think it justify its cost. Maybe in a few years
Your trunk regularly floods in rain? I’m in the SF Bay Area so I’m not super worried about rain but that’s enough of a nuisance to be a deal breaker
Not regularly. Happens when you "open quickly" but never happened to any of my other cars. It's been raining a lot in the bay. I would not buy this car or a car in general if you are in downtown SF
I have the performance. I drive it like I stole it. Range is greatly reduced, not even close to 310 miles.
11 months, 27k+ miles. I love the car. Had a Model S before and another electric before that. The 3 is better than the S in a lot of ways, but just not as roomy for the back seats. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to a gas car. The biggest issue for me is little bugs like having to reboot the screen a few times a year and having the lengthy wait times to schedule service or wait for parts (getting better).
Lots of reliability concerns with this car. Dramatic decrease in range with cold weather, plastic cracks, rain leaking in trunk. Has anyone hear has a major repair and was actually able to find parts?
11+ months. Still love it like it's new.
