Hi guys It's year end and planning to buy guitar I don't have any prior knowledge with respect to guitars. Can anyone suggest which type of guitar is best suited for beginner like acoustic, classical or electric guitar ? And also can anyone share best guitar within 5k-10k INR range for beginner ? If you're buying a guitar to learn then buy any good enough guitar and don't buy an expensive one. Only a handful actually learn how to play it. Most people just play it for a few days and never touch it again.
I don't know what is expensive threshold for guitar? Is 5-10k expensive?
5-10k INR should get you a good enough guitar to learn. I know someone who purchased a 800$ guitar to learn and didn't even play it once. You can learn to play guitar even on the most basic guitar. The most important thing is your desire to learn. Ask yourself why do you want to play the guitar. If you want to learn it to impress people, you won't go far. I would suggest joining a class where they provide a guitar and try it out for a month or so. After a month you'll know it you really like it or not. Then you can buy your own guitar. I know so many people who bought it and never learnt how to play it. A friend of mine wanted to buy a guitar. I gave him my guitar and asked him to learn it before buying. He didn't learn and after a month bought a new guitar anyway. It's been years and I have never seen him playing it even once.
I am using this! https://www.amazon.in/dp/B072Q9L8DG/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_P2MEXQE084KBSNG9HJPG?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Being a beginner, this works fine for me
Okay thanks will check this out
Nylon is easier to practice with, but it doesn't prepare you for the pain that will be steel strings. So you can get better at the musicality, but won't be able to develop fingertip callous. Also, nylon is better suited for flamenco/finger style guitar playing, while steel strings is better suited for general music. It is easier to lose motivation with steel string guitars, at least in the beginning. Nylons allow you to keep at it for longer hours. Best to take an experienced guitar player who can help you pick a good guitar. Something that won't be bent out of shape 6 months later
Also as Tesco talks about pain in fingers, being a beginner, i would suggest a jugaad of wrapping cello tape on fingers, it helps to avoid pain as well as, decrease chances of buzzing sound, lately this trick is working for me!
At one point, I used to apply CA glue (feviquik) to my finger tips. However this only hinders the callous development. The faster you get over it, the better. Its not worth prolonging the suffering. Just get it done with. In a few months you develop resistance to the strings
I personally like acoustic Yamaha in the range you mentioned, but I’ll suggest you to go to a retail and try out some and then buy. Also try out Nylon vs Metal strings, Nylon’s easier to play.
Accoustic yamaha has many models like FS80C, F280, etc... Which one do u suggest?
Why not try out both at a retail and pick? First one has a smaller body than the latter, try out both and see which one you’re able to handle better.
