Woke up this morning, chuckled at the “Drunk at SFO” post ... then glanced over a post on here about a non-tech Amazon interviews, and a reply from someone about STAR principles and personality questions, never heard of them before, didn’t think much of it, googled it and watched a quick YouTube video while making coffee ... 2 hours later, phone coding interview, and STAR is front and center (almost half of the interview). 😂
What's STAR
Situation, Task, Action, Result
If people can see past the NY article and some shitty managers, The foundations of Amazon as a company were laid on very strong principles. The leadership principles, The STAR mechanics in every personnel evaluation setting, working backwards, Obsession to do it right. It's a fucking amazing place to be if you align with the leadership and foundation.
