It's a bummer when you work as hard as you ever have to doing thankless and invisible work. My M2 and up, partner teams, etc couldn't care less about what I have done. Because of this my career growth is dead and I have nothing to show for it. I also can't demo it since they aren't huge features, rather fixing critical things and working with customer feedback so no one has to even know there was a problem to begin with. Looking forward to getting my sub 80 rewards this year and not leaving to go somewhere else because I literally don't care about anything anymore. Bing tc 200k
You got to frame critical fix in term of customers churn reduction. "I fixed xyz which reduce our department customer churn by xyz% which will increase our customers LTV by %%. And making company lots more of money from existing customers in the future. Always tie your work on how it can make the business more money in some KPI. Doesn't matter if the KPI is made up, no one will bother to check it anyway
Pretty much this. Impact is all that really matters. If you can’t measure it, then either the work sucks, or most likely you suck.
I suggest looking at your work as a transactional relationship. They give you 200k a year to work 40 hours a week. Just give them exactly that and move on.
Some people don't find fulfilment in that.
