The Google Headcount Debacle (Eng Res)
Hi All, I wanted to know if anyone had info on when headcount may possibly increase? Would interviewing this late be 100% negative or is there a chance that some headcount may be released in Q1 allowing for some candidates to pass through (Or as I would think, does Google already account for this in their HC prediction) ? Or is it looking like 2021 hires is where it’ll end up being this time around? I’m desperately trying to get out of Consulting. Reason I am asking if because I applied for the Engineering Resident role back in September. I heard back a couple weeks ago and have my two technical phone interviews in early Jan. Also if there is anyone here that has experience with the eng res program either as a resident, manager of a resident or on the HC for it, may I DM? Thanks Blind Fam, Happy Hump Day

Try to apply for SWE maybe. I got rejected from STEP / EP during undergrad but got accepted by SWE (in the same year). Google is weird.
