The PMM to PM transition. How to successfully make it happen? Thoughts and insights.

Happy New Years! The title says it all. How does one prepare for this transition? I've worked up the ladder from being someone who writes blogs to career-defining content roles, to finally leaping into the PMM field across multiple organizations over 5 years. After successfully handling multiple product launches, and hitting revenue goals, I've been itching to transition into a product manager role. I've got good command over road mapping, wireframing, and doing the entire GTM (coz the PMs I worked with were very technical, so the GTM was handed off to me). I wanted to learn from this community as to how I could successfully make it happen. I've been lucky enough to get shortlisted for PM roles (MSFT, PureStorage) but my interviews however haven't lived up to the expectations. Any help and insights would be much appreciated. Thanks.
