SAP has wwwaaaayyyy too many people when you compare it to almost every other tech company. Like twice too many.
Exactly. We have been too nice to too many people for too long.
“Too nice to people”. You mean leadership made a ridiculous number of stupid acquisitions in the 2010s which is the main reason for SAP’s headcount. It’s not “too high”. It’s exactly where any sane person would expect it to be given the company’s idiotic history. Layoffs won’t solve the fundamental issues this company has, it just makes their financial metrics look better to investors. The new SAP is all smoke and mirrors

Should I keep my Eagle Scout award on my resume?
Did not they lay off 8000 in Jan? Are you saying that layoff started now?
Announcement of layoff in Jan, mass notification to 75% of the impacted individuals in April, then remaining 25% left to be notified in Q1’25. A tactic together with mandatory 3 day RTO simply to drive involuntary attrition
Has everyone been notified already? The 75%?
