One of the main reasons I'm leaving EA is because they give a shit more about cash than players. Players First is a motto here and it has been lost completely
I don't think anybody outside of EA's offices has believed that EA cares about their consumer base in a very long time, if they ever did at all
Or if they care about the game qualities .... so many dead ....
I feel like gamer community has always been entitled and toxic, it's just that now it's easier for gamers to have a more direct line to devs. Also there are so many more devs now than there ever we're. You're gonna get some shitty ones.
Omg Tencent is here! What’s working there like?
As an American working for a Chinese company it's very frustrating. I hear all Asian companies are similar, but after Tencent, I probably won't work for a non-Western company again. There's lots of show over substance. Some of the decisions that get made boggle my mind.
There is a massive power differential. Devs have to take the higher road and respect their customers. It's basic business.

Apex was/is a good game. It's a shame they have so much trouble monetizing it. The thing that sucks about EA is that the past few games where they try to push microtransactions to new levels were all very good games from a gameplay perspective (starwars, apex). Objectively devs probably shouldn't flame their fans in public, but maybe they wanna sacrifice a few scapegoats to make it look like they are appeasing the base?
Having been through game industry myself, I find a lot go devs are really childish and passive aggressive. They are also easily offended and become defensive a lot of times.
