There is diversity lottery visa for that! If companies shouldn't discreminate people by race ethnicity during hiring, then why do you expect this discremination during EB based GC? Whats next? FAANG should have 7% country cap while hiring? Change my mind.
Arguing here won't get you a GC. If you aren't smart enough to realize nothing would pass through house and senate, then you don't even deserve a GC. Even If something passes by some miracle, Mr. President wouldnt sign it. So, just live your life of luxury in misery.
Appreciate the insightful response. You too have a good life :)
Oh man, your politeness is viral. Ok here is the deal, the reason for me harsh comments are that indian folks are so clueless and gullible especially in topics related to immigration that they are making their life decisions expecting a GC soon. I just want people to understand that the likelihood of anything passing are bleak so just plan for it. Makes sense?
The purpose of country caps, when it was introduced, was to ensure diversity. But with time, the abuse of H1b by indian consulting firms has ended up this country cap looking like a discrimination against Indians. Sadly, nobody is addressing the real issue i.e. H1b abuse. Probably, country caps or strict merit requirements on H1b would not have led to this massive backlog.
It would still have been led to a backlog but I agree with you on h1b abuse. And I don’t see a good path forward on how we can stop those abuse.
The good path can be.. increase eb visas.. 30 year old limits cannot apply today.. need to be revised... exclude dependents that come with primary applicants for eb gc.. to ensure merit.. issue h1b to folks that have a US degree .. with that also check phony universities that admit just about anyone... because L1s already serve the purpose of transfering employees across border. So, Giving H1b to US grads wont affect it.. just my $ 0.02
