Things won't improve in the US.

1. Mass shootings (no actions after Uvalde) 2. Expensive healthcare (2/3 reasons of bankruptcy) 3. Immigration issues (declining population will need to be supplemented by immigration) 4. Minimum wage ( cost of 18 eggs > 1 hr of work) 5. Increasing wealth gap (few people will own houses, afford retirement, etc.) 6. Deteriorating education (declining quality of teachers, veteran teachers leaving jobs, etc.) Biden's presidency was nothing but to maintain the status quo. Politicians allow lobbying, insider trading, etc. People are too much in debt to care about protests, unions, etc. I don't think US can continue to be a super power with unsolved critical issues. With oil being replaced by renewal resources and physical war being replaced by proxy/pseudo-protests, trade embargo, disturbance via social media, etc. the dollar can struggle to maintain its supremacy. Then. Leave.

Definitely a good option.

Salesforce paycutOK Jan 23, 2023

Or come up with tech to solve these problems and profit

Apple pol460 Jan 23, 2023

Lol @ #3. Declining population can be solved by fixing wage, childcare issues etc. No need to import people.

Amazon eXxk75 OP Jan 23, 2023

But they are not being solved right?

Apple pol460 Jan 23, 2023

No because the people in charge are actively trying to destroy the country

Qualtrics GoodLuck? Jan 23, 2023

The reality is that there is no good country to move to. Maybe Singapore. Everywhere else not ideal. Europe is war/energy security issues, China is communistic, Dubai (Emirates) very strict on laws, Russia is at war even after war nothing good there.

This is true. Grass seems greener but it’s really not. Everyone talks about how great Scandinavia is but there are months where you only get a few hours sunlight a day. No thanks.

Amazon eXxk75 OP Jan 23, 2023

what news?

Cisco VaVL86 Jan 23, 2023

I think this is probably all true but there’s still nowhere else I’d rather live.

kindly elaborate.

TLDR You got the most basic facts wrong. 1. The murder rate and violent crime has steadily been declining since the 90s 2. The cost of healthcare will go down as soon as we cut out the government. 3. This is plain false. The population continues to grow 4. Plain false again. Minimum wage will easily buy you 18 eggs. I just bought 24 organic free range eggs for 8 bucks at Costco in California 5. The wealth gap is a boogeyman. The poorest fifth of Americans enjoyed a roughly 80 percent post-tax income increase since 1979. The richest quintile—those just below the top 1 percent—had a similar gain of nearly 80 percent 6. The data shows the quality of education is going up.

Amazon eXxk75 OP Jan 23, 2023

Not near my walmart. 18 large white eggs (non organic) is $7.24 + taxes

There are certainly systemic problems in America. The problem is that fixing all of these will require a radically different set of lawmakers. Fewer boomers, fewer extremists. One look at Congress today does not make for an inspiring cohort. It is sad but America is really a broken country. The way laws are written and set up is just too slow for the 21st century. The only reason America seems good is because other places haven't overcome their own challenges.

Reddit fugax 🇺🇸 Jan 23, 2023

Agree on the kind of politicians we have. But I don’t think there are any gems in the American populace. Most of the people are just plain dumb.

Datadog yeslin Jan 23, 2023

I wouldn't say there aren't quality people. I would say that good quality people are held back by backward ass laws and regulations. E.g. There is a high demand for doctors, and yet so many med school graduates are prevented from practicing medicine because of limits on the number of residents. The solution is simple - no limits on number of residents and funding comes from the obnoxious military budget. But no. Our lawmakers are captured by lobbying. This ensured that healthcare deteriorated for over 20 years and is absolutely going to continue to deteriorate. Same for immigration where we train the best then prevent them from starting businesses that create more jobs. Then we kick them out of the country on arbitrary deadlines because law. The law itself is fucked up and no lawmaker seems to want to improve things.

7. Terrible monetary policy and fiscal policy. Underreport inflation. 8. Unchecked corruption in Congress and lobbying. Why does none of them get pipped? 10. Failure to control Wall Street.
