I am an avid reader, and over last 5 years, reading quite a few finance & investing books, and journals, and doing stock investing myself as well, I have educated myself quite a bit about identifying superior businesses, and have had pretty good success until now with stock investments. Even though English is not my 1st language, and I don't have American/British accent, I think I speak well, and for this reason, I am thinking of doing a YouTube channel on the side. My only concern is that if I discuss other tech stocks (other than my company; I don't plan to discuss my own company ever), would my company be OK with that. Don't want to get fired from them, if I discuss the stocks of some companies which might be their competitors, What do y'all think? (P.S. I am not in US on a visa). #Youtube #Investing #Investingchannel #stockchannel
What are some good books you read?
Well I have read about 20-30 great books and ~10 crappy ones until now related to finance. Some pertinent to the modern era of investing are: 1. Where the money is - Adam Seessel 2. Invested - Danielle Town 3. Richer, Wiser, Happier by William Green
As long as you provide a disclaimer you would be fine
If you worry you can avoid the industry you are in together
The problem is my analysis and education (and just common sense) tells that "Tech is where the money is" for at least next 20 years, so I cannot avoid the industry
So you think nvidia ceo is stalking in YouTube?
How do you go about picking stocks? I would love to learn.
What's your investment return last year? Investment YouTube channel works as long as your prediction is correct. Once people following your tips are making money, they are hooked to watch your channel.
I think last year it was ~20%. I have made multiple stock investments with over 100% return, and some which did go down a bit last year, but I totally still believe in their long term potential
Wow. 20% return last year is very impressive. What are your trades?
I would suggest start with your compliance department and marketing /communications team fit guidelines on personal communications while employed. At times there are fine prints policy matters that you may need to consider. All the best though that’s a great idea.
World don’t need another shitty investment channel with the title image of some wanker with a shocked facial expression, a graph of an arrow going down behind them, and a clickbait-y title about the upcoming crash
I don't intend to do any of the things you mentioned. But rather provide solid framework in identifying businesses that have strong growth prospects, as well as a competitive advantage.
Are you a Real Vision subscriber? If not, get a trial subscription and check out their tutorial videos. If you think you can do better than RV, go ahead and start the channel. If not, you will have a hard time getting viewers
Curious what specific tips do you look to offer and educate your viewers? Do you want to cover stocks that you are actively investing?
Not individual stocks, but to give a framework for evaluating stocks in light of current economic conditions, and identify strong businesses that have growth prospect and a competitive advantage

How long until you retire?
Retirement does not appeal to me at all. Hard to predict the future but I think in 5-10 years I might be in a position to retire, but won't do so. (P.s. I am in my 20s)
