This is how we improve the tech industry

- Add TC, YOE, role and level to every post on blind (blind should make it a fing feature, lazy blind team) - Encourage non-tech people to use freecodecamp or Odin project and Upskill. More tech aware individuals working in diverse industries and functions would open new use cases or bring in cleaner requirements for tech. - Talk more about Base and consider stock (even public companies) as paper money. Don't go buy a house expecting you can pay it through stock (look at what happened with Meta, Zillow, Carvana, Redfin, etc.) - Don't unionize but democratize and support each other. Stand against Amazon's toxic culture, don't apply to teams that are known culprits (existing employees who aren't toxic, don't be lazy and apply outside). Don't dox managers but dox the teams culture so we know the product would fail when it doesn't have good talent. Either they fix the culture or kill the product. - Don't simp on stupid products and increase headcount on bloated teams (Alexa I'm thinking about you). Build judgement to understand whether the world would be fine or not without your existence. Are you a need to have or nice to have. (Nice to haves get killed, Need to haves may get killed) - Don't give too much power to people above you, instead spread the decision making power at lower levels. - Speculative tech needs an opportunity to experiment but draw a line. Don't join the NFT team working on reels without having a fallback plan, don't join Alexa health without understanding their KPIs and current status against goals. - DEI is a joke. Women have not gained much beyond PR success touted by corporations, minorities still have a long way to go. Not all minorities are considered minorities. Don't kill DEI metrics but kill the roles that are built only for DEI purposes (ex: DEI PM, DEI Lead, DEI abcdefg, etc.). - Work should be work, ok to have political conversations but companies should not have a role in controlling political discourse. Create the tools and make these moderation rules and application transparent + let people know why they were cancelled when they are cancelled. (Twitter you know what you did) Anymore? I agree, more focus on base salary. Instead of just TC, put base and TC in the post. TC: 207k Base: 160k YOE: 14 Senior SWE (P3)

So you want… - that people follow an unwritten rule on Blind - that people discuss what they earn in cash, and to not get excited by what seems to be new tech - that people somehow reject employers bad conditions… - …while not unionising or “getting political” as though the workplace wasn’t a political field - for firms to invest less in diverse hiring Who pissed on your cereal this morning?

Why is it important that people share their TC? I don’t get why that’s important

I can understand why job role and yoe could be relevant
