I believe Netflix’s failure is just matter of time. Their business model is so bad. They have loads of borrowed movies from other vendors that now each of them have their own streaming platform and taking their movies out of Netflix. Its just matter of time till someone acquires it for a cent on a dollar for few shows it owns. Your thoughts?
Not only that, but pretty much all of Netflix's original content is pure garbage
A lot of it has one great season then immediately falls off a cliff. E.g. House of Cards, Stranger Things etc.
Honestly, Netflix is surviving on international content these days. Hulu and HBO have much higher quality content overall. And of course Disney has star wars and MCU.
Yes but their UX is great, compared to PrimeVideo
There is no patent on UX and its ML is almost benchmark. Anyone can handle that.
And yet - who’s their best competitor?
We’ve reached the stage where content is being generated much faster than what we can consume. With limited time each night, and a ton of choices, I just don’t know what any media platform is going to look like in 15 years.
So what you are essentially saying is that some random app like paramount or cbs will be more popular than Netflix ?
Not exactly. As someone else said, most movies are horse sh*t these days and most people prefer to watch older and more classic movies which are owned by companies that have their own streaming and will not borrow it.
Not everyone wants to watch same movies again and again. Wednesday has been a huge hit recently for example
Polls on blind will always skew towards whatever the most hateful option is
Kanye 2024!
Don't understand why they need to pay SWEs so much for what seems like a simple file sharing website
Its just some scalability issue and some ML for recommendations.
It works way more smoothly on my obscure smart TV compared to Prime or Hulu. The only comparable app I've seen is YouTube and they also pay well.
who are you talking to? I feel like I never see Netflix employees here.
I think they precisely predicted this situation when they decided to make their own content.
I hope you don’t be reported and lose your access to blind
Ok 👍🏻
Haven’t like all of their competing streaming services fired their CEOs for blowing too much cash trying to compete with Netflix and not getting much for it? (Except apple of course, with more money than god.)
