Airbnb has not renewed its bonus for 2020 and for those who have been through an IPO can you share how an IPO affected compensation? did they reduce bonuses? new offers were lowered? thanks! TC: $280k
No standard practice here. Ipos are hard and cash flow becomes very important. The value of the ipo is your equity becomes liquid (usually post a lockout period) but business will have to change as ipos are later stage now and thus struggling with growth.
@Facebook - I’ve seen your responses are super respectful and humble. The blind community thanks you!
No significant changes at U so far. Bonus is in march though, so will see.
New offers do tend to get lowered as an IPO looms in the horizon as it's no longer just paper money. Plus companies need to be very careful about cash flow due to public/investor scrutiny. That said, completely getting rid of the bonus program will likely result in increased attrition so they've to come up with an alternative in order to stay competitive with others in the industry. Airbnb is still evaluating the bonus for 2020, correct? No decision has been made yet? Any idea when the decision will be announced?
