Any thoughts on these upcoming IPOs and related companies? -Palantir: seems like a cool company but somewhat obscure? Anyone has practical examples of what they do/ heard anything about them?CEO just released a letter to investors criticizing Silicon Valley. -Airbnb: I love it, have not booked an hotel since 2016. They can have my money. Interested in hearing ideas and comments. #ipo #airbnb #palantir
Airbnb: daily rent $60 Cleaning charges: $250
As touched on above, I have used AirBnB countless times however, the fees can be a pain. Something to keep in mind.
Guys, even amazon was loosing money till last few years and it is just how much we spend on our innovation. We always see losses for any company for some years. Only we have to see how much revenue they have and what is their growth path. When FB came to public, no one understand their market and now you can see fb. Palantir is in 150 Countries. Now their database has 150 countries people data almost and if they tweak their software and release for normal companies for verification of their employees as part of employee verification, u can not imagine their revenue. Their database no one else has and all these employee verification companies will be closed My take is “it is going to be big in industry “
I don’t think you know what Palantir do. There isn’t some mythical “database” that knows everything about everyone in 150 countries. Their deployments are siloed, and used for data integration and analysis.

I work in security and don’t know what Palantir is doing. They seem legit and the federal government loves them, but other than that they are pretty much a blackbox which receives input from another blackbox and outputs into yet another blackbox. But in today’s Orwellian society that might be a good thing:) so, 50/50 for Palantir.
