Thoughts on Patreon
I'm in the pipeline for interviewing for leadership role at Patreon. I'm wondering what people here think about the company. I know it's used by YouTube creators a lot, however the company had layoffs in the middle of the pandemic when I expect they are doing far better than before. Anyone has insights on how they're doing? Currently Sr EM at a large company. TC $900k. YoE 17.

What do I think of it as a business? Business has been low ever since onlyfans came into existence
I’ve been here for 4 years now and the layoffs sucked. They probably weren’t even necessary. With that said, I’m still here and still really like the job in engineering. Mainly because I like the people on the ground floor a lot and my team especially.

Did they offer remote
The CPO lied on his resume (was never a director at META) and had terrible pulse scores due to hot head and bullying behavior to his reports. I’d recommend a hard pass.
They fired a bunch of people recently (2 times). They seem to be disorganized as fuck.
