I like designer clothing and most importantly I like to flex (so good clothing without a designer tag on them isn’t the same). I have good taste (I believe and many people told me), so I probably wouldn’t buy anything that’s out right look ridiculous. I haven’t been able to afford any so far since I’m still in college, but I’m kind of obsessed with them and wanting to own some of the pieces myself. Sometimes I go to the shop just to try them on knowing full well I can’t afford them. My family is also relatively poor but I know my mother and sister do want something fancy and I want to buy them as well. So is a software engineer salary enough to justify that purchase? I’m looking to set around 15k aside a year for shopping (everything incl. gifts for relatives). Would like to know if that’s too much. TC: 250 (two sigma new grad probably) Yoe: 0.5
Buy a Rollie for yourself
Save the rest and reward your day ones. Loyalty above all.
Yes a software engineering salary will allow you to purchase these things. However you'll learn really fast that no one in tech cares about the brand of your clothes. You might get some kudos for wearing chrome or Patagonia, but nothing more than that.
You should buy stone island tho. It’s lit
Woooo 💫💫
Tech fleece too 🥶
Wear what you want. You'll realize in the end it won't fulfill you though. Only Jesus can do that.
🤫. I am content with having meaningless fun.
Lol
‘designer clothes’ are the kind of clothes poor people think rich people wear (hint: they dont).
This! Rich people as in super rich kinda do but they’re not going to wear them to flex or have logos on them which screams look at me. Going to Bloomie’s and picking up off white hoodie to them is going to adidas and picking one for rest of us, that’s just what they do. Lot of exclusive designers you just know their clothes and recognize them aka you know if you know.
Well yeah but I’m not gonna wear LV stuff with all the logos on them. I like subtle stuff that looks good and makes me feels good about myself (which explains why the brand name).
There are a lot of designers. The cost of their clothing can vary considerably. But yes you will be able to afford to purchase some of it There are stores that also specialize in resale of designer clothes - the reel reel for example. If you are proactive about it, you can often get some great deals when stores are clearing our season inventory. Saks off fifth and farfetch are good sites to monitor. There are others.
IDK why would anyone buy something like a designer baseball cap for $400. Considering that its only difference from a $40 cap is the brand logo. But if it gets you $400 worth of pleasure then go for it!
Bruh I’m sure if he gets the offer. The work to get it with 0 years of exp was pretty monumental. He should spend the money how he likes
Idk why either. But that’s because I don’t like baseball. I guess items have values if people think they are. For instance my grandma’s jewelry would be priceless to me but worthless to you.
Get buff and fit well in clothing. Fuck the flex if you look like dog water in the clothes And yes you will be able to afford that on 250k TC
Bruh U make 250k with 0 years of exp 🥶
