All are fully remote and I have 7 YOE. Current TC Is $185K I’ll add that the NetApp offer is to work in CVS(storage for GCP)/Astra (kubernetes AWS/GCP/azure platform) team . Oracle is to work in a OCI based GBU (government business unit), and SAP is to work under the subsidiary NS2 in government offerings.
What is your location ? Does fully remote depend on your current location ?
I’m not sure but I am in the Washington DC area
What’s the culture and work like at SAP? I really know very little about it in that regard
Do you know what team/product? SAP is a huge company, it varies quite a bit.
This is working under the NS2 subsidiary. So all in the government space.
I also am curious about what Oracle/OCI culture is like within their GBU (government BUs)
OCI is a better option, especially now that government is going to share cloud between G,AMZN, Oracle and MS. The experience with feds alone will give you a career boost and you will get more calls from big five.
All of these are companies I wouldn’t join. Why are you leaving Akamai?
Primarily because of the tech stack that I work on(very legacy and old school) and just Akamai is lower pay generally speaking . But I must say that Akamai is great culture and WLB wise so I am considering staying as well
They reached out to me last week and I was planning to talk to them about ML. Will see what they offer I suppose
SAP has a great culture, great benefits in general they care a lot about their ppl. It’s a place where ppl can stay and be valued. Also lots of opportunities to travel to Europe in some roles.
GBU is global business unit, not government business unit
TC means total compensation so what do you mean by tc + rsus?
I didn’t lump the RSUs in with the TC
Just because it would greatly embellish the Oracle TC number because 1500 RSUs is worth roughly $135K vested over 4 years, so that makes it closer to 230K Oracle TC I guess
