School started last week. Kids have zoom meetings for ~5-6 hours every day. Our internet usage is through the roof (900GB so far and counting). Starting July, Comcast started to enforce 1.2 TB limit. I guess we'll manage to get under quota this month, but next month we are definitely exceeding 1.2TB limit and Comcast is charging $10 for 50GB ... Considering pretty much every Bay Area family with kids is going to hit the limits, this looks like a lot of extra revenue for Comcast in the upcoming months .... time to invest in their stock?
Sounds like a good thesis and if you have the conviction - why not?
Comcast stock might do well - but you need to ask yourself if you could invest that money in some other stock which could do way better. Will Comcast's business achieve better results than Amazon, Google, Facebook, FedEx, UPS, etc.
This is called diversification :)
Lol - it's called opportunity cost
Fuck Comcast
I heard that 😉
I could see why Uber feels like that. Comcast doesn't care about the customers. They were charging a regional sports fee of 16$ even when no sports was played nationally. Totally unethical. Insurance companies at least did good on this by reducing price and refunding
Safe stock to invest in if you don't have a lot of $$$ the throw at the Amazons of the world
Get a better internet and spend your money on airlines or cruise industry. These companies will eventually bounce back early next year and would be a good ROI
They are giving free public WiFi for all . So why can’t you use it ?
Please do - my ESPP discount thanks you
FYI, The limit was 1TB pre-COVID. They temporarily removed the cap for a few months due to COVID. I have multiple kids but staying within the limit. Pay little more for unlimited if you really need it.
5G is the solution. Whoever is providing that service invest in them. Cables do not survive long.
Except the carriers are what wire your tower backhaul... You grow, we will be fine. Until musk goes after businesses connects and decimates telco with StarLink
@charter We'll be fine. Under perfect conditions the latency of a satellite link is 550ms.. good luck gaming and making zoom calls with that.
Pay $30 for unlimited data
$30 With who? Google Fi?
Google means pay $30 extra for the unlimited data plan. Comcast does have unlimited data plan.
