I got offers from 3 different companies when I got laid off. The offers came at different times. By the time I had first offer from a small company, other 2 offers were in limbo. So, I joined this small tech company ( first offer) and they filed my H1B. In a month period, I got 2 other pending offers as well - one from another startup and other from Apple. I accepted those offers as well so that they can also file my H1B. I know its unethical but I was unlucky in H1B from last many years and now after getting laid off, didn't care too much about ethics. Now, in the current company where I am in, its so much exhausting and I am not at all liking it here. In my mind, I was actually waiting for H1B result from Apple. But today, I got the new that my H1B lottery got selected in my current company. I am still waiting for results from other 2 companies. In case, I didn't get lottery pick up from Apple, I would have to stay with this current company (less pay and so much work such that I am not able to spend time with family). I wish to know when does Petitions typically get approved and how many months I would need to stay with them? Also, is it possible that I leave this company immediately after getting my petition approved but never get onto their H1 but rather directly use it for another company? #h1b
At least you had legit offers so I’m not gonna say much here but I hate those mofos with 10 consultancies applying in parallel
Screw them
Get caught ?
What if the last approved company withdraws the offer
They won’t withdraw as it costs more money for a lost candidate
Take your unethical H1B and stay with it until you are clear from multiple registrations revoke.
To have your problems. Congratulations on getting picked
Do i need to stay once I get my I797? Can i use it for some other company directly starting Oct 1st?
Yes take your approval and run 🏃♂️
Thanks! I also think so that it is possible. Not sure why in other comments, folks are asking that I need to stay with the company till Oct 1st and then wait for couple of months of paystubs.
I think you need to stay at least one pay roll and move to another company :)
sorry I googled it and it was 2-3 paystubs.
