A barista expected tips for a $10 card I bought at Starbucks! I didn't tip. Will you ?also what about to go orders, do you tip the cashier for exchanging hands ?
Why are multiple selections not allowed...you asked two separate questions.
Never tip at coffee shops. They did not bring the coffee to my table. They did not refill my water, they did not greet me from the door, they did not clean my table, etc. Why tip?
Even if they did those things, I wouldn't tip. That's expected of them. They should ask for better pay from the employer, not the customers. The same way, if I am not happy with G pay, I ask G for better pay, not the G customers I interact with everyday.
Entitled much G? "Ask for better pay" yeah and the corporations be like yes please
I used to Not anymore
No tips. Wait staff are not special compared to the kitchen staff or any other job duties. This thing must change.
I accidentally tipped $6 today at pizza shop from where I was picking up. The cashier was nice and helped me through the menu. I’m ok about the money today cause she helped but I’m also not sure if that money goes to her or is split up.
I’m done tipping at Starbucks. Especially the drive through.
Tipping on a gift card is ridiculous. There’s also an expectation to tip when money from said card is spent. Any reasonable person behind any register should not be shocked by this. Think it’s laziness in removing tip feature for certain products, hoping to extract more from customers who feel guilty it aren’t paying attention.
Tell them to fuck off. If they are asking for tips they don’t need to be working at Starbucks.
I know it's not right place. But, Can I DM you for referrals?
Why are certain services considered tippable but not others? What is the criteria for deciding that? For example the cashier in the grocery store that packs your stuff in a bag and scans and bills you, doesn’t expect a tip even though their effort is not much different from a barista making a cup of coffee. Why aren’t UPS delivery people tipped for bringing heavy boxes to your door but Uber Eats drivers expect a tip for delivering a small pizza box to your door? Also many restaurants have a forced gratuity these days. Initially it would be for a party of 5 or more but I’ve seen restaurants lately with 18% mandatory gratuity even for a party of 1. I thought the word gratuity originated from being grateful. How can you force someone to be grateful even before you have provided any service?
