Few examples: Spent 45 minutes to show a director how to use a drop down menu to filter a report on Tableau. Same person as above: “you report is wrong, I can’t find this account”. The account shouldn’t be there in the first place since didn’t match his/her dashboard requirements. “We’ll but that’s what I meant so it is still wrong”. FML. Other director: “I need data for this campaign”. Sent the report. “This data is wrong, doesn’t match my report”. Where do you source it from? “Doesn’t matter, still wrong”. So why you asked me to review? Stuff like this happening mostly with the early boomer type, marketing/sales director. Seriously what’s the hiring bar for these folks? They make no sense, they can hardly navigate a GUI made for idiots. Ive been in some pretty dumb non-tech companies but this is ridiculous. WTF workday? Is this the same everywhere or I just happen to be in the wrong place? #Workday #google #facebook 8yo 150 tc
Sounds like workday has bad hires. Run and find a better company that hires competent leaders
Had a manager just like that. I jumped after a few months. “The data is wrong” with no info about where they sourced from is very familiar
Incredibly lazy thinking is what it is
Find a reason to add a third party on the email chain. They may be wanting to get little ego wins in these scenarios, but they’ll be more wary of sounding stupid if there are others cced.
Not saying dont jump ship. But test this theory out first to experiment :)
And please let us know how this experiment goes 🙂
Sounds familiar
I myself am eager for boomers to age out of the tech industry by the next 10 years. Too many laggards that are too hard to fire
Careful what you wish for
Yea there’s a lot of things incompetent people at workday especially the boomer non tech ones
Jump the ship
Don't do it, there's sharks in the water. Are you in the itunes dept?
