Tired of waiting

I've been contracting for the company for three years now, and it looks like my contract will not be renewed, nor will it turn into an FTE position. It's aggravating as I love the company and people I work with, but now I'm faced with looking for a new job. All I've been hearing for a while is "budget freeze", and "not enough FTE spots open", but then I see email threads and hear talks of manager off-site meetings at expensive venues with drinks and food and lodging and airfare for 40+ people from around the country... It becomes very depressing.

they have money, but it might be limited to your direct managers etc. I suggest trying your best to not be resentful and be positive about new opportunities. there is some much better ones out there for you

There may be a contract between your employer and your client to not poach you. See if u can find out

I was a contractor too and didn't want to convert to FTE. Luckily my then boss convinced me it's a good move and got a head count. If you think you're performing well and your manager likes you, be frank about your situation and see if she/he can help you secure a FT position.

There seems to be a lot of openings. Can you have your manager refer to one of the openings in another area of the company?

They have dough, switching out the furniture in the lobby every 3 months and shit. Hiring people just to stand around, apply for a different "cloud". I just puked saying that.

Sometimes you may need to force their hand by having another offer - the tricky thing about that is you need to be ready to take that other offer if thatโ€™s not enough for them to try to convert you
