I have an interview with Intuit coming up. I researched the people who I’m interviewing with, and their titles are all over the place. Also, I see here that compensation is all over the place too. This position is for group manager - staff level (hopefully I can convince them to bring me in a the principal level). What is a typical compensation packager for this type of role at staff level at Intuit? TC: 220 YOE: 14
Group manager is Principal, Staff is senior manager for swe
Than you! Do you know how is compensation structured for a group manager ?
I am not sure of the bands, but intuit is generally light on stock comp relative to base and bonus(25% of base for principal, 20% for staff)..I know a group manager that makes ~400k but don’t know if that is low/mid/top of the band, levels.fyi perhaps?
Group manager is not Staff. Staff = Sr. Manager. Group Manager would most likely get paid more than 400k. It could carry a lot of responsibility - possibly multiple managers, principal engineers, staff engineers reporting.
Comp will depend on location and team you will be a group manager for. Group mgrs for the swe teams make more base wise than the non dev teams. I know group mgrs as low as the mid 100s
Levels at Intuit in general are SE-Sr SE-Staff SE-Principal SE. Staff is equivalent to Sr Manager or Manager 2 Principal is equivalent to Group Manager who can have multiple Staff and sometimes Principals reporting into them. At Group Manager I would expect the total comp to be above 400K, hope that helps. All the best!
It depends on your location, how well you do in the interview, your number of years of experience and ability to negotiate. For a good Group manager, your TC can cross $550K and $150K or so in joining bonus.
