Dell does not offer, interested in current state of tech market. Post your company policy and I’ll update the thread. Please share any personal thoughts on such a policy. Personally I want >=8 weeks paid every 5-7 years. If companies want to retain talent they really need to reward tenure. Time is the greatest gift. Nobody wants a dumb chotchkie or watch. Blind tax: TC 375k YOE 17 Intel: 8 weeks paid every 7 years of tenure Adobe: 4 weeks paid at 5 year tenure 5 weeks paid at 10 year tenure 6 weeks paid every 5 years tenure >= 15 Autodesk: 6 weeks paid every 4 years of tenure Arm: 4 weeks paid every 4 years of tenure PayPal / Charles Schwab / Epic: 4 weeks paid every 5 years of tenure Biogen: 4 weeks paid every 6 years of tenure Google/IBM Sabbaticals allowed for volunteering (unclear of terms) #tech #faang #timeoff #sabbatical #tenure
We have unlimited PTO. Why use the sabbatical program if you can just take off. I personally take about 8 weeks a year of PTO. In the past, I took 3 months off between jobs (2 times).
Who at sales force regularly takes vacations >= 4 weeks straight? I’d think culture shaming would prevent that behavior. Taking 8 weeks is good use of policy, and I see that being a viable alternative. Most people I know with unlimited PTO don’t take it.
The foreigners on my team take every December off to visit their home country. I only take 3 weeks in December. I also take 3 weeks during summer.
Arm has 4 weeks every 4 years. Plus 5 weeks of vacation
Just switch jobs and take a 2 month sabbatical
Intel recently allows more flexibility so that people don't require to take a break 8 week long non-consecutive sabbatical. For example, You can take 4 week in spring break and another 4 week in summer. Also, Intel allows 4 week sabbatical with every 4 year service.
So on top of vacation, it’s actually… Year 4 - 4 week sabbatical Year 7 - 8 week sabbatical (or two 4s) Year 8 - 4 week sabbatical Year 12 - 4 week sabbatical Year 14 - 8 week sabbatical (or two 4s) etc…?
I take a 1 year sabbatical every 10 years. Closing in now for the next 1 year break and planning for it.

LLM limits exposed
I'm really displeased with Google's stance on sabbatical (or lack thereof)
I couldn’t find detailed info on it, how does it work? Something about being tied to community service, or training? unpaid?
I don't know the exact policy I'll have to look it up when I'm at my computer. But basically the company line is "we are generous with PTO so you don't need a sabbatical". Annoying
