Toast or Docusign

I have two offers from Toast and Docusign (both remote). I’m making a move into a different area I am interested in (Product) so I accept taking a paycut to gain experience (especially in this economy). Lucky to have two offers but need help deciding. Toast product is more intuitively interesting to me. Pay is 200k all in. I know some people on the team/manager and would enjoy working there. Docusign is trying to rebrand into an IAM system. Less interesting and exciting to me than Toast. Don’t know the teams well but manager seems nice. All in comp is $250k What matters to me most is interest and culture. Don’t want to keep interviewing, since I don’t want to stay at my current role and I got a lot of interviews and went to final rounds but the rest didn’t pan out (super tough hiring market). And grateful for these two offers and excited to be able to make the switch into product.

Toast: product is still transforming the marketplace rapidly. Seems to have a good reputation as an employee but has had layoffs Docusign seems to be going through a rough patch. Went private. Had layoffs. Product seems boring, but that’s just my opinion I think neither is a much better choice, it’ll come down to your own preferences, the vibes of the team, the RTO and other stuff important to you

Ex-Toaster here. Loved the company culture and the people but it’ll really depend on the product team. Amongst the few directors that you’ll prob reporting too, I’d say some products teams are definitely harder to really get anything going compared to other. Sometimes there is a thin line for direction on what the executives really want and what is being communicated to you so you’ll sometimes have to work in the dark. Regards to that I think Toast is an amazing product overall and it offers decent benefits and a great entry point with the stock price and espp. TC: 0

Docusign Box Dropbox These three companies should get acquired by Adobe or get consolidated. Toast looks amazing as a product but that market is saturated by lot of players like - square - lightspeed - moneris - stripe entered this space as well. Business is low margin business tho.

How’d you get remote for Docusign? I thought they were hybrid? And is this for SWE? p3?

Ex toaster, culture is garbage and they're planning more layoffs to outsource teams over to india. Its all favoritism and, at times, racism from leadership. Everyone is out for themselves, no team collaboration. Stay far from toast

Very true and unfortunately only going downhill in the culture department. Everyone is out for themselves!!
