Told to not post on Blind and go to HR instead

Anyone on here been told not to post on Blind?

There’s a sexual harassment problem where I work and they told us not to post about it on Blind and they are monitoring what we post. Is this even legal to not allow employees to speak out or post publicly about sexual harassment in the workplace?

    If you don't feel like you can trust your HR (and I don't blame you) you can bypass HR and just file police reports for each of the sexual harassment incidents. It will be much harder for them to retaliate against you or cover it up if you do that.

    I posted on Blind, “looking for others at Deloitte who have been sexually harassed” and I got a load of PMs. Now I have allies. I suggest you do this first. Get allies. Then get legal advice. HR is not going to protect you- in my case, they protected the perpetrator and fired me after I reported.

      Your situation may not be as extreme, but you can imagine that a violent person might feel emboldened in an environment where lewd behavior is tolerated. If someone at my company had put a stop to this partner’s inappropriate comments and sexual advances earlier, he might never have had the opportunity to attack me. So, thank you for trying to stop it at your company. You might be preventing something far worse from happening down the road.

      This thread has gotten too confusing. I think there are conversations going about multiple companies and I'm having a hard time deciphering which is about my company and which is from employees at other companies. I assume others are having the same problem but maybe its just me.

    I mentioned this on a #metoo post last week and I will keep posting this option until I'm blue in the face on threads like this: Consider contacting the investors about it anonymously. Their money is on the line and it's in their best interest to correct this problem especially with sexual harassment finally being taken more seriously by media and people in power.

    I recently filed a charge against my employer and won. You should definitely post on Blind. It gives other employees who you don’t know directly, a way to contact you to join your case. You should speak to a lawyer. I spoke with Christie Del-Rey Cone and thought she was fantastic.

      The people in power who covered it up are just as guilty for knowingly putting employees in a situation with a serial sexual harasser and refusing to correct the problem. This is why they are not respected, trusted, nor taken seriously by staff...because they aren’t leaders.
