I work in Cloud and work pretty hard. Attend all design meetings, help out teammates debug stuff, look into other people's design and codes and leave comments. Even record standups and re-read transcribed notes (which I then delete immediately) Thanks to that I think I have quite fulfilling time here, and get recognition from people. Then I look at some folks and there are a lot of coasters here. Probably 70% coasters and 20% regular people 10% hardworking. Coasters spend like 3 hours working and rest is chilling, eating, playing board games, chatting. If these people worked, Google would be better than Apple, OpenAI, Microsoft, and Netflix. Sorry Meta and Amazon. Google is still better than you guys with the coasters
Because life is not all work?
bruh my man going into the office to live a lifestyle unlike the losers who go there to work
I think the point here is they are overpaid
Ok. Now you got that off your chest. Rest up for a hard day of work tomorrow.
They’re all counting on him 😂
Lol
Why work for 8hrs when you can complete tasks in 3hrs or less?
🏄♂️
Coz they do 40hrs worth of work in 10 hrs and rest other time!
Yes coz they're sitting at L4 for 10 years.
Both of you are correct!
work smarter not harder also isnt cloud the one place at google where its constantly 40+ hours?
Most believe in optimizing time and doing what matters to them. The promo process is a joke anyway, so might as well use your time wisely. You’re not gonna get rewarded for the extra hours you put in. The layoffs are just another reminder.
Correction: Google is better than Meta *because of* the coasting

Is Sillicon valley dead for good?
Sign me up for coasting. The biggest coasters are the managers and directors you work for
But in google directors are 1 in 100.. only meant to do organization stuff.. seems u r confused about the job responsibility of a director vs an engineer
Depends on the pa and org
