Took TD Ameritrade to FINRA arbitration and WON (17k damages)
Got a bad fill on a market order that caused me 17k in losses (big boy position). Wrote a statement of claim using chat gpt and took TD Ameritrade to FINRA arbitration after they only offered to give me a 2500 credit to fix it. Represented myself pro se and beat TD ameritrades lawyers for 17k + interest + filing fees. Not a bad day 😎 thanks open ai for the help 🤑

What evidence did you collect to prove the claim?
The main pieces of evidence I requested in discovery were all calls that I was on with their staff, and all of their internal communications (recordings + chat logs) between their staff that I was not copied/privy to . I found that the rep who was assisting me with bad fill blatantly lied and then nothing he said rest of arbitration was able to be taken with a grain of salt.

The lawyer was an idiot lol. He majorly fucked it up. But if it wasn’t worth the time they should have just offered a fair settlement before I took them to arbitration. It cost them an extra 10k in filing fees and interest. Def not a good look for their lawyer as an employee losing nearly 30k after fees to someone representing themself without a lawyer

What does a "bad fill" mean if you placed a market order? It didn't execute at the correct price? How big was your position
180k position size. Clicked flatten button and it didn’t fill / process. Had screen shot of the flatten button Grey’d out even though the order didn’t fulfill. Went on to lose 17k cause the order filled 15 mins later when it should have been instantaneous.
What about suing for mental harassment OP ? 17K is not even peanuts for TDA! Maybe the lawyers are partying as they got away with this paltry fine !
