When is this intel one happening?
I remember reading about it, looks like it's not confirmed, sorry, will remove it https://www.quicktechnics.com/en/post/intel-will-lay-off-20-000-employees and comments about the article https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=33180313
Q4’22 & Q1’23
Your forgot Stripe, Chime, Lyft, and Opendoor.
Thanks! Do you happen to have references / sources and numbers, I can add it to my post, or you can add in your comment :)
Opendoor 550
Intel 20k, did you pull that number from your a**? 😅
I remember reading about it, looks like it's not confirmed, sorry, will remove it https://www.quicktechnics.com/en/post/intel-will-lay-off-20-000-employees and comments about the article https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=33180313
Stripe: ~1000 globally
Thanks added 👍EDIT: this is the source I found before I added it to the list https://www.cnbc.com/2022/11/03/stripe-plans-to-lay-off-14percent-of-workers.html
LOL at your list if it takes one random Blind comment to add an entry
is Microsoft actually confirmed? nothing on the WARN site
https://www.cnbc.com/2022/10/18/microsoft-confirms-job-cuts-after-calling-for-growth-to-slow.html I think that's why companies always fire just under 1000 at a time, so they don't have to post on WARN. Salesforce did the same thing yesterday.
@OP: do you have any source for Salesforce layoff?
Also check layoffs.fyi
You forgot argo ai shutting down altogether
From an internal post for Intel according to QGS. Still more to come. DCAI (Data center and AI group) = ~800 employee out of 10k CCG (Client Computing Group) = ~800-900 employee out of 6.5k NEX (Network and edge group) = ? SMG (Sales and Marketing group) = 1000 employee out of 6-7k AXG = ? VCG (Visual Computing Group) under AXG = 12%
Holly f***. Any idea which site is more impacting?
Are these numbers correct? My friends of mine work at Intel 😔
What roles were laid off? For Salesforce, it was only sales
I think it is happening for everyone not sales eventually. Sales leadership is not just going to say okay engineering is fine.
Vlocity they are hiring in my region aggressively for engineering. Doesn’t make sense to fire engineer and hire at high price and onboard new joinee
layoffs.fyi has a good listing. warning - looking at it is depressing
Yeah
Put it in perspective to „normal“ Pip, which is not reported in normal years (but also affects 2-5% of employees) and the overall number of employees.
