Tower Research Capital vs Google
Currently L5 at Google, current TC (vested) ~420k. Pretty good wlb. Located in NYC. Currently Tower Research Capital SWEs- how is comp/wlb? Thoughts on whether a move will be worth?
Don’t leave Google for a low-tier finance firm. If you want to move to that space, try for a good firm like HRT, Jane Street, Headlands, Jump. Plenty of Googlers there.
Unfortunately I failed my HRT onsite and the other places haven't reached out for interviews. Trying to break into hft

TRC atleast in India is complete BS. No WLB. No respect for software developers (non traders and strategists). Very bad work. Super arrogant peers. I left that shit in a few weeks. I was so frustrated.

It depends on the team. But, overall it's not advisable

I would spend my spare time working on exploratory projects at a university or incubator and keep that sweet TC.
Tower is a top spot for trading teams but tower core (central engineering team) doesn't have comp that scales to PNL. There are trading teams that have their own embedded engineers and their pay is directly through their team PNL
