Townhome vs SFH in Redmond
Similar price range (700k) Townhome is in a prime area (near Redmond transit center with excellent walk score, transit, etc.) though HOA dues is around 350/month. SFH is away from prime area. Redmond ridge. Not bus friendly. Longer commute. HOA dues are minor.

I’d never live in redmond ridge if I was single or married with no kids. You may as well buy a minivan too
Shared walls = can never own a surround sound system with a nice subwoofer. Many do not care about this, which is fine....
But smart people do care about this 😋
Buy SFH but not in Redmond ridge unless you want to spend next 5-7 years in Microsoft. If you’re really in to townhome or condo buy something near grass lawn area it’s very convenient for Seattle commute and as well for renting too in present/future.
The townhome will appreciate a lot more once light rail arrives.
This. Plus if you ever leave Microsoft and have to go to Seattle, it'll be a brutal commute.
