Who are these retards asking for dictatorship in India?
All are front office C++ and python trading & research system engineer roles. Bonus are first-year guaranteed amounts. Right now at a big name shop with little scope. WLBs are similar at 45-50h/week and no off-hour shift. The small shop was led by an ex-citadel PM and just started trading. The other big name is a genetic C++ role. All roles include 1-year non-compete. YOE: 5
What products did the citadel guy launch? Anything that actually stuck and was valuable? That would be how I decide.
Roughly how much yoe does a swe need to get offers like this? And is this something a swe with no experience industry could get into? Or does it require specialized knowledge that a normal backend swe wouldn't have?
I would love to DM you to ask about specifics on knowledge and skillsets I should pursue to be a prime candidate for offers like these. I’m about to start this race and I’m giving myself 2-3 years. Your guidance would be much appreciated
Out of curiosity, how do you find these small firms/interview with them?
Headhunter reached out to me
Remain in a big shop, do not go to a new small shop even if it is run by an ex citadel PM (tbh that doesn't mean much), there are 300 citadel PMs. New shops have all the odds against them, and if the new shop doesn't make money, no bonus from 2nd year.
Fair point. Going to wait for 1 more year to see their performance
Would you mind if I dm you?

Seems like much higher upside if things go well. I would take the risk.
