Transfer to Walmart US from Banglore
Hi I am shifting to Walmart US sunnyvale office from india on L1 visa . They are paying me 140k base + 20k stocks + 16 % of base as annual bonus. Should i reconsider this decision of shifting to US or should i try for other companies in India itself Yoe -2.5

Number of stocks is very low as per US standards. Base is good. See if you can negotiate stock amount. That said, for 2.5 yoe, this is better than market pay. I’m pretty sure only FAANG and top startups best/match the pay

That’s a great package but keep in mind if u have a family n this is ur single income, it’s not much. Check rents on apts n ur other living expenses n evaluate if u want to move to Sunnyvale. The cost of living is high. If I will share accommodation/are single, it’s very good.

What are the rules for L1A? Shouldn't you be a manager?
You could be a people manager or functional manager.
You can't be L1A just by asking. There are strict requirements. Google it. Many people made that Bangalore to Sunnyvale move on L1B. It's as good as it gets. Walmart base is quite competitive, but RSU sucks. I am assuming your are X4. If you are worth your salt, you can get 2 promotions in your 5 year stint here. Return back to India as X6 and enjoy ~1cr in TC. Or, if you are lucky enough to get through H1B lottery, it's a different game altogether. And remember, the Bay area is as good as it gets in the US in terms of weather, talented co-workers, money etc. not everyone gets to move to Sunnyvale, e.g. people transferring from Amazon will probably move to Seattle etc.
What is the TC in India for your role. I get more or less the same as what you were offered in sunnyvale. I'll be moving to Bangalore because I didn't get H1b in my last attempt. So can you tell me what the TC was in India for you, so that I know what to expect. Also how easy or difficult in the process to get an L1 after a year of working in bangalore
20k stocks/year or spread out over 4? If you're planning to move to US, you might as well take it. In Amazon/Microsoft, you would probably get a little lesser than that at 2.5 yoe if you were to move to US from India.
