Have a friend looking to start working at a tech company due to reputation as a generally positive work environment. Experience in law and compliance but no degree in either (BA). Not picky about the job as long as it's not sales. Has management experience so ideally looking beyond entry level. What kind of jobs should they be looking for? Before I get the "learn to code" response assume they are looking for something before finishing a project like that. I've been an analyst since finishing grad school so I can't tell them what to look for beyond that track. What skills should they showcase or verbiage should they push to get noticed?
Are tech companies particularly good places to work if you aren't in tech or at least tech-adjacent? I wouldn't think so. Like, are Facebook accountants super happy?
Granted it's not as good when compared to engineering gigs, but even on something entry level like paralegals the pay and benefits are way better than at small law firms
I miss the days when tech was mostly populated by tinkerers and eccentrics, now it's inundated by randos knocking at the door
I miss the days when the tech community was welcoming and helpful, now it's inundated by self important, entitled, unhelpful assholes
Maybe a gig in Policy at companies like Uber or Airbnb?

I'd venture to say that it would be helpful for this person to look at something That interests them. If you have a passion for something that goes a lot further than if just wanna make a move
