I had a tough onboarding experience at LinkedIn (pre Covid). It took me a year to feel confident I knew what I was doing and until then I was worried would be laid off. This is my first job in a big tech company. Is it generally this tough? Don’t want to go through that amount of stress again.
Totally normal. Probably because you have that mindset you are doing better than most. Keep learning and you will be good.
Thanks for encouragement, but if that’s normal then I’ll stay here as long as possible to avoid onboarding again!
Hey OP, I am also experiencing same., I joined remotely and this is my 1st big tech company. I had a talk with manager and she said it's perfectly normal to feel so, people usually take 1 year to acquainted with new job. But I work at Amazon.
I would not believe manager at Amazon at all.
lol come back after 6 months to tell us that you are leet coding. Trust no one at Amazon
Joining LinkedIn soon. Any tips for on boarding?
hey can I dm? Have a LinkedIn interview soon
dm'd actually. Please check 💛
It’s called Imposter Syndrome. Happens to many.
I think Imposter Syndrome is a different problem. I don’t doubt my abilities or feel like a fraud. Just surprised how much effort + time was required before could be productive here.
These are not easy jobs we do. Details take time.

yes Also any tips to crack linkedin interview would be helpful.
I did ~200 LC and interviewed at ~10 companies before my LinkedIn onsite and by then was getting pretty good. Not sure if that was overkill but it got me the job.
