and in some ways it is a great improvement over the old search. I asked "thai restaurants" near my area, and it gave a nice list of restaurants, each link goes straight to the website, also a nice map with locations. and follow up questions that I can select, like hours of operation etc. Very nice ui and convenient to use. The thing is, the same operation in google search or maps will require so many clicks. I can confidently say, this is the first AI assistant that is finally helpful and not awkward to use (hello alexa) I remember a paper clip in MS Office from 2000s, 25 years later it came back in a different form and it is finally useful!
The only reason I still use Google is cus it’s a bit faster. Bing query still takes avg 6 seconds while G is almost instant. Also Google uses the entire screen real estate to give you photos, maps.
You're using it wrong. ChatGPT isn't meant to replace google.
Yeah I tried it in bing and it was still hot trash. If google has an even decent AI interface in search bing will never grow beyond the failure / afterthought it is now. Just telling it like it is. Bing.com …. ??

I’m not saying it’s not good for lots of use cases, but that literally exactly what Google shows for this query? A list of restaurants, with opening hours and price ranges and a map? Sometimes I’m confused what weird version of Google people have supposedly used. I get a Places widget at the top that does exactly this. I don’t think this is a good llm use case at all.
haha, you are actually right. The widget is very close
