Has anyone moved from AWS to Microsoft and had a hard time adjusting? Nothing is documented, there’s no onboarding/readiness program, and my coworkers are seemingly always on vacation (I’m in the UK). I’m all for work-life balance but I don’t know how anything ever gets done unless it’s a last minute fire. There seems to be no proactive work and all reactive motions to play “catch up.” I moved into Modern Work (not Azure) so it’s all licensed software vs. consumption based infrastructure which means there’s really no reason to not be proactive about getting contracts pre-approved early, checking in with customers on regular basis, etc. I’m customer facing in a strategic enterprise sales role and I’m finding the work culture differences quite challenging. Any advice? My managers (I have two) keep telling me I’m just “too ambitious” and to “relax more.” Any advice for finding readiness resources and not loosing my mind with the lack of initiative? 230k pounds? Which level is that?
L63 in UK and L65 in US. I’m American and negotiated based on American-comp at L65 since I’m IC5. When I move back to US it’s in my contract my level is based on my IC-level 😊
sit back and enjoy
