I'm curious regarding the current experiences of individuals who have to apply for H1-B visas to work in the US. Has it been more difficult securing H1-B status under the Trump administration? Has the recent focus on said visas made it easier for US citizens to secure positions typically reserved/aimed at H1-B visa holders?
Only talentless will struggle irrespective of H1B, green card or Citizen.
isn't it 'random' pretty sure alot of Bachelor of CS degrees still struggling to get their H1B...
Got mine approved in Dec, Stamped as well arnd in Feb. Not much asked.
I received a warm welcome at the immigration desk in SFO
Interesting. The media makes it sound like it's been a tremendous burden to get approved.
FAKE NEWS
No difference at all from what I know.
Lots of RFEs (request for evidence) this time. The scrutiny is quite high. Not that it's a big deal, just that you can't move/switch/travel Internationally till the time you're approved
Getting approvals may not have been a problem, but finding an employer to sponsor a visa has become difficult, especially in the Midwest. Not too many options for visa holders. FANG are different. They don't care what your visa status is.
Trump actually made the number of applicants go down for the first time in five years but kept the quota the same. That means people who applied this year had a better chance than under the obama admin's last few years. Basic math here. http://money.cnn.com/2017/04/17/technology/h-1b-visa-applications/index.html

Its truly heartbreaking, I can’t work. I can’t focus, isn’t there anyone who can convince Israel to stop Raffah invasion
I had no problem to get my H1B. Smooth process and no too personal questions.
