After talking to a handful of google employees it seems like: - many employees attempt google interviews more than 1 time to get in - spoke to a hiring manager who said he tried 5 years in a row then got in to google cloud - people generally agreed that LC is not the best way to take interviews and judge candidates but at this point it’s just standard because candidates are willing to put up with it - seems like people go through LC pain for prestige and money and barely anyone talked to me about actual work they do or enjoy - they have “internal tools 🧰 “ for everything and learning that is non transferable for some or many of it - google has YouTube, Maps, search, that makes moneys and they have managed to duck up and kill many other products/projects, google nest being one. So strategy is try little bit of everything? FYI I’m just attempting to understand how things work at google genuinely and not trying to offend anyone . TC~200k YOE 6

Best place I ever worked at
Been here for a year, did zero work - but super stressed the whole time because I'm doing nothing.
Didn't know they hired meowglers! I thought they only hired dooglers
Things don’t work at google. We are just burning search/ ads money.
True or sarcasm?
True, majority of google does not produce a successful product and that is true for the majority of the public companies that are burning investors cash. Even within search etc most peoples job doesn’t matter, ie what they build is just a drop in the bucket and would be ok if it didn’t happen.
