I would love to hear about the culture of Twilio - specially work life balance, company focus on well-being, investment in D&I etc. Given the stage of the company, I'm wary that it could to quite chaotic.
Terrible management. Their way of getting things done is threatening engineers with PIP Most only stay because of stock appreciation while hating the company.
i’ve literally never experienced that. ever
Any pip instance you wanna share. I havent seen much about this at twilio at blind. Everywhere its about amazon or microsoft. At twilio, Was it genuine case or pushed upon?
best company i’ve worked for so far. amazing wlb and focus on mental health. leba clemmons is the new DnI exec and she’s awesome.
Hey which location are you in? And are you swe there?
Manager here?
What about for non-tech people?

Not a good culture. Your opinion always gets pushed away by upper management or L4/L5. No space for new ideas, only follow what others did. Sometimes deployment over Saturday and no cover up day off next week.
I love it
Great company overall. But, has a toxic activist d&i culture that brings in all of society issues to the workplace as a priority. If your into critical race theory and have anti capitalist viewpoint, you will fit right in. But if you want to focus on doing meaningful work in the communications and customer engagement, you will have a tough time. otherwise it is great company and you will like working here. Very focused on work life balance and well being.
critical race theory and anti-capitalist what does this even mean? this feels like the meme where conservatives call anything slightly left the communist manifesto
welcome to life
I know a couple of friends that were ex Amazonians who loved the Amazon culture and went to twilio for financial reasons. Both said they hated working at Twilio due to the culture and one left after a few months there to return to Amazon. The issue is Twilio and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise
“Who loved the Amazon culture” Lol, if that’s the case, I would totally see why they would hate a company with great WLB, inclusiveness, and overall genuine care for their employees like Twilio. Let them stay in pip country.
Wow! This is new. People love Amazon and hate Twilio. Some people just develop a love for pain and can’t live a normal life.
Any experiences from Twilio India folks? How's the work culture, wlb, compensation?
High attrition, it might also be due to a highly competitive job market.
Has its ups and downs. Market opportunity is huge, but the company has real issues with execution. Jeff is great, but his bench is weak. Go here only if you have high tolerance for change and ambiguity. Lots of turnover in the last year and it’ll likely continue until the stock returns to sustained growth.
