I am L5 SDE at Amazon with yoe 9. I am looking for a change and since Boston does not have a lot of options, i want to target my preparation around Twitter. - What should i study and how much do i need to be prepared. Is it as crazy as GOOG or FB? - What is the TC offered? (senior and staff) - What are teams at Twitter Boston? - I am primarily a Backend Java dev. What does Twitter Boston do in general? - Are there other options in Boston area, (barring chewy and wayfair) - should i target senior or staff at my exp Before someone asks, want to point out that NO i am not on PIP or a dev plan. I am really an above average performer. I moved a lot, first internationally then within USA, so I did not get to L6 and now I am not even sure if investing a year to target L6 @ Amazon is even worth it. TC: 240k yoe - 9 (5 amazon, 4 other product companies) #twitter
OP try Datadog’s Boston office. They also offer remote positions and definitely pay equivalent to Twitter if not more.

What numbers are you expecting? I am referring to levels.fyi data. Also they have a bunch of ex faangs working there. So they have to pay equivalently

Twitter is a tremendous step down from Amazon. It’s also a rest & vest culture so you’ll probably get pretty frustrated with them mediocrity. Sure work life balance is better and there’s other great perks but ultimately you’ll be surrounded by average people, average processes, lots of chaos and a lot less logic when it comes to making decisions. Twitter likes the way we’ve always done it as an approach. Good luck in Boston! tons of other great companies than Twitter.

Yeah. Thanks for all the info. Why do you think I want yo move lol Amazon has good processes and it is easier to work. But pay is shit. Oncall is real. And pip is real too. You have to be in a team where you know there is someone worse than you or just change. Hence looking out for twitter. What other companies?
