Twitter laid off 75% of employees and still works. What happens to #meta #uber #google #netflix Let’s be honest - why does netflix need PM and eng? they have turned into a content creation company. how complex is their tech stack really? Meta + Google -> Yes lots of big bets and new ideas need Eng + PM. but how many ppl to keep search, cloud and Facebook / instagram running do they really need? Uber -> All the hard route optimization and logistics tech to work at scale is already built. How many swe / PM do they really need?
There's a scalability issue overseas
I can close my eyes while driving without crashing* *for a while anyway
Probably for about 5 seconds before you get into danger and I'd say ten seconds before an accident.. How long do we wait for Twitter to collapse?
If your idea of running a successful company is to keep the tech working as-is with no regard to growth opportunity or international compliance, then sure, you can axe most people in any company.
Twitter had a major outage just last week. In addition to all the other outages and issues they've been having. It's easy to claim they have no issues if you refuse to acknowledge the issues they have.
1. Things don’t immediately break. Let’s check back on Twitter in a year. 2. The product of Twitter (single app) is not comparable to huge companies that offer a diverse array of products and services.
And not testing means you will never have a bug ticket. /S
Maybe other companies need to lay off only 25% then in order to not capitulate
