I had an interview for SWE2 at Twitter. One round behavioral, went pretty well I think. System design went well. API design went well. But for coding, it took me a bit long to come to the solution for the first problem. Then the interviewer put a spin on the problem that was easily LC hard and I couldn’t figure it out. They prefaced the second part by saying that it’s ok if I just use pseudo code, not sure if it was because I was low on time or if it was just a challenge. At the end, they said it was ok that I didn’t finish and they just wanted to see my thought process. Now to feel worse or better, I am asking the friendliest community I know, Blind. What are my chances of getting it?
Which location?
I’ve been this interviewer a few times. In my opinion this is a reject. You always want the candidate to feel positive.
Want to make candidate feel +I've about what? It sets up wrong expectations which lead to dejections in the end if the case is otherwise. You can instead communicate that you have taken notes and will be analysing later to arrive at a decision.
A few peers i know had to reinterview..... at least for internships.I don’t think you’ll get rejected though. I know that during interviews there, there are bar raisers. So they will ask an hard question
OP, update?
Bar is too high these days, while I wish for you to get the offer, it’s prolly a reject.
