Hi all, I received a “verbal offer” from Twitter yesterday and was given some general ranges. First formal offer will come early next week with the real numbers. The role is under dev exp and seems like there’s a lot to take on there and difference to be made. Original posting was at Senior/Staff and I was offered 2 to start. I have competing offers from AWS and GitHub, both senior level. In addition I just got a promo at MSFT. I’ve looked at levelsfyi and the data is super stale. Can any other Twitter Product Mangers weigh in on what to aim for for TC? Especially if I want to push for senior? TIA! YOE: 5 Current TC: $220k Location: Seattle Note: I have deep experience in this niche technical space which it sounds like they are having a hard time finding PMs for. #productmanagement #productmanagementtwitter #twitterpm #TCadvice #PM #PMoffer #Twitter #DevExp #product #productmanager
You should try but with 5 yoe its Unlikely they Will level you up to senior just FYI. Some of these technical orgs are very down level happy
For Sr you can ask for about 400-450K range.
What were the ranges that you were given?
Base: 180-200 15% annual bonus 100-300 in total stock vesting over 4 years 75k in stock refreshers (vests over 4 years) Was told that sign on bonus is case by case basis
Also - what was your AWS offer? I'm in a similar boat, expecting an offer for Twitter for Developer Exp, and have an AWS offer.
The AWS offer was awful. I was a little offended actually - not gonna lie. Are you going for a product manager role at both?
???
Did you get the final offer?
i have a PM interview tomorrow. would love some tips!
I hate when people ask questions and then don’t come back to tell the outcome for future people. So here I am! Lol From last interview to verbal offer was about a week. Did a little bit of back and forth before I got my first formal offer about 1.5-2 weeks after the verbal. Negotiated one more time and got a second written offer a week after the first. This was with me pushing the whole time. Could have just been a one off experience for me but in case it seems like it’s taking forever for you, don’t freak out too much. I also had two other offers and got a promo at MSFT during this process. The other offers really weren’t that interesting/competitive to me and unfortunately the promo didn’t make a big difference for my MSFT career right now. However, having other things to back me up gave me a lot more leverage. At MSFT I’ve been both a TPM and product marketing manager. I have around 5 YOE (all at MSFT) and just went from 61->62 as of March1. Promo base at Microsoft went up about 5%. Since it was “off cycle” there weren’t any other rewards associated with it. Original Twitter offer was around 160k base, 250stock, 80refreshers, 20signon. This is for PM2 Final offer that I accepted was 185base, 275stock (split equally over 4 years. For yr 1, you get 1/8 at 6months and the second 1/8th at a year which is nice), 81k in refreshers, 30k sign on. I’ll be working remotely and staying in Seattle. New TC: ~ 310k or more (depending on bonus) year one with refreshers (and hopefully promos and raises) after that. Hopefully this helps people! Best of luck with your interviews 👍🏼
