Do you mean as a private company? Yes, they did issue equity but without annual refreshers. You got it at time of hire and that’s it. That changed maybe 4 years ago.
Wrong. There have been annual refreshers every year I’ve been here, although that’s obviously not going to continue. I expect future offers to replace stock with salary + bonuses. Existing unvested RSUs are being converted to cash at the acquisition price, on the same schedule. There was no vesting acceleration offered in the agreement.
I’ve been here since 2013. People used to leave in droves because of the “equity cliff.” I’m in finance. I know how this works.
