I'm PhD + 2 years. Both are initial offer. Twitter: Senior MLE base: 195k bonus: 20% sign-on: 30k rsu: 525k hr said the expected refresh is 155k. Snap: L4 base: 195k bonus: 10% sign-on: 50k rsu: 645k(for 3 years) no refresh Currently i have a tight deadline for snap, so not sure the twitter can compete or not. But seems twitter has a better culture and are closer to (L6 staff level)? As I see someone in blind said snap's l4 is about 4.5 compared to other companies, but the hr denied this. The twitter team is related with ml infra and revenue science. The snap's team is more related with social network recommendations. I hope to hear more opinions on the WLB, career growth and so on. [Updated] the twitter improves to: base: 195k bonus: 20% sign-on: 50k rsu: 650k the expected refresh is 155k. and went to twitter.
I've seen Amazon employees getting in Snap's L4 with 2 yoe with just bachelors. 10% bonus isn't guaranteed. If you work hard and get to L5, it will be an even bigger boost to TC.
how long does it take to L5? and how the L4 and L5 currently compared with other companies' levels?
I would say L4 still has some overlap with other companies’ L5, like this high-end offer you got. Might be pushed further higher. Fastest promotion from 4 to 5 is 1 year as I heard.
Congrats on the offers! WLB wise Twitter is generally better. Career growth wise I’d say Snap. Our social network recommendation team has been doing a great job in the last 2 years, and DAU growth hasn’t shown any sign of slowdown.
Can I ping you on how you prepped for Twitter MLE?
Well done, if you’d joined Snap, the stock would have dropped by 90% 🥲
Such a bummer that people are getting PhDs to work on societal garbage (namely, Snap).
Well placing mustaches correctly is very important.
We all sell out at some point
