Not that they are bad - they are good for speed, especially when addressing genuine separation of concerns. They have been overused. I also suspect it's easier to make teams and hire more people if your tech stack can be split into several peices
I think Elon musk took a big pass at microservices in twitter... I have seen the same over-reliance at Amazon - especially Alexa... Which makes monoliths feel like angels
